Freight truck stolen from Siliguri recovered in Uttar Pradesh, two arrested

Siliguri, 16th August: A freight truck stolen from Siliguri has been recovered in Uttar Pradesh. Two people have been arrested in the incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Shahnawaz Ahmed (23) and Arif (25). Both are residents of Uttar Pradesh.


As per the report, on August 08, a freight truck left for Balurghat from Fulbari via Raiganj and Buniadpur. However, as the truck did not reach the destination on time, the private association authorities approached the NJP police. Based on the complaint, the police launched investigations and learned that the truck is being taken to Uttar Pradesh for sale. Following this, a police team reached Uttar Pradesh. With the help of the local police, the stolen truck was recovered and the two accused individuals Shahnawaz Ahmed and Arif were arrested.


According to police sources, the duo used to steal trucks from different places and drive them to Uttar Pradesh for sale. Police have already reached Siliguri with the accused. They were produced at the Jalpaiguri court on Monday.
