Four more candidates arrested for cheating in Food SI exam in Siliguri

Siliguri, 18th March: Siliguri Police has arrested four more candidates from different examination centers on charges of cheating using electronic devices in the WBPSC Food Sub Inspector (SI) examination on Sunday. The four arrested candidates are Noor Alam, Shusen Roy, Nawaz Sharif and Pabitra Mandal.


The WBPSC Food Sub Inspector examination was conducted on 16th and 17th March i.e. Saturday and Sunday in the entire state. Reportedly, on Sunday, four candidates were arrested for cheating with mobile phones in three examination centers Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya, Jagadish Chandra Vidhyapith and Siliguri Girls’ High School, under the jurisdiction of the Siliguri police station.

As per details received from police sources, candidates Noor Alam and Pabitra Mandal are residents of Malda while Nawaz Sharif is a resident of Islampur and Shusen Roy is from Nadia district. Significantly, the candidates were caught using unfair means at the examination centre and were thereafter handed over to the police. On Monday, all the accused have been produced before the Siliguri court.


It is to be noted that during the two days of WBPSC Food SI examination, a total of 9 candidates have been arrested from Siliguri on charges of cheating. At present, the police are engaged in a detailed investigation of the incidents.
