Naxalbari, 06th January: The police of Naxalbari police station arrested four people on the charges of grabbing and selling government land. The accused have been identified as Vinay Rai (50), Kulin Singh (50), Ekka Bahadur Mangar (49), and Rahul (39), all said to be residents of Naxalbari. The accused have been produced in the Siliguri divisional court.
On the other hand, the Naxalbari Land and Land Revenue Department had lodged a complaint at the Naxalbari police station about receiving information about government land being sold without the knowledge of the administration. Based on the complaint, the police engaged in the investigation arrested the said four people.
In this regard, Naxalbari Land and Land Revenue Officer Biplab Haldar said that a complaint has been made about the government land being sold. In the coming days, the process of installing government boards on government land will commence and strict action will be taken against those who sell government land.
