Siliguri, 21st September: Former Ward No. 28 councillor Sharmila Das and Ward No. 32 councillor Tapas Chatterjee left CPIM and joined the Trinamool Congress at Darjeeling district Trinamool office, on Tuesday.
Chairman Alok Chakraborty, president Papia Ghosh, and SMC administrator Goutam Deb handed over party flags to the former councillors at the district office. Reportedly, the joining was conducted as per the instructions of the district leaders and state leaders.
On the other hand, Deepak Shil left TMC before the election and joined BJP. He once again rejoined Trinamool today. Besides, many more people from different organizations also joined the party.
