Forest department plants cage to trap prowling wild bear in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 08th December: The forest department planted a cage to catch a bear, on Tuesday.


It has been learned that a cage was set up on the bank of Karala river on the opposite side of the circuit bench judge’s residence in the presence of three DFOs around 2.30 am on Tuesday.

DFO of Garumara Forest Department Anshu Yadav, Jalpaiguri DFO Mridul Kumar, DFO of Horticulture and Orchards Department Anjan Guha, Wildlife Squad personnel from various ranges, environmentalist Swaroop Mandal and forest workers were present on the spot till late at night.
