Flower show to commence in Siliguri starting February 04

Siliguri, 06th January: The largest flower fair in the North East region is likely to start in Siliguri from February 04. The fair organized by Siliguri Horticultural Society will enter its 37th year this time. However, keeping in mind the ongoing pandemic, several programmes have been changed this year. Ticket prices have been increased from 10 rupees to 20 rupees this year to avoid crowds.

Prashanta Sen, secretary of the Horticultural Society, said the number of stalls has not been increased this year. However, like every year, this time too, hundreds of flower growers from different parts of Siliguri will present their collection of flowers. Besides, fruits, cactus, and various other things will be available.

On the other hand, Nantu Pal, president of Siliguri Horticultural Society, said that during the lockdown, many people set up gardens on their house terrace and cultivated various flowers, fruits, and vegetables. Upon contacting the Horticultural Society, the team will reach one’s doorstep and click photographs of the garden. If that picture is nominated, it will be displayed at the flower fair.
