Five arrested with 20 cattle on Bengal-Bihar border in Kharibari

Kharibari, 24th January: In recent developments, five smugglers were arrested with 20 cattle on the Bengal-Bihar border of Kharibari. The arrested accused are Anil Kumar (54), Pawan Kumar (43), Arun Bhola (20), Bikash Rathore (23) and Rafiul Islam (33). Among the arrested, four are residents of Haryana and one from Assam.


Reportedly, two trucks were apprehended during naka checking at Kharibari on the Bengal-Bihar border. During the search, 20 cattle were rescued from the trucks.

Subsequently, upon failure to provide valid documents, five individuals were arrested by Kharibari police. On Wednesday, all the accused were produced before the Siliguri court, while, further investigations are underway.
