Rajganj, 27th August: Cultivation of colourful fishes has brought a ray of hope for the farmers in the Gajoldoba area under Jalpaiguri district.
Mithun Mal, a fish farmer, stated that after taking training from Kerala, he has been cultivating colorful fishes for the past 4 years. reportedly, he used to cultivate 2-3 species of fish earlier, but now cultivates several species of fish including golden fish, zebra fish, and crocodile fish.
Apart from Gajaldoba Bazar, these multicoloured fishes are sold in Malbazar, Jalpaiguri, and Siliguri. The business also brings a good profit.
