Firearms recovered in Siliguri, Bhaktinagar police to go to Bihar for further investigation

Siliguri, 02nd September: The Bhaktinagar police arrested Nitesh Shah with three firearms and six rounds of live ammunition near Eastern Bypass on August 29. The arrested accused was produced in Jalpaiguri court on the next day and taken into police custody for 8 days.


During interrogation, it was revealed that Nitesh Shah is a resident of the Khagaria district of Bihar and had recently started living in Siliguri. Apparently, he has links with many criminal gangs in Bihar. The weapons in his possession have been kept in police custody. This information was shared by the Siliguri Metropolitan Police ACP Shuvendra Kumar during a press conference at Bhaktinagar police station.

The ACP said that the IC of Bhaktinagar police station Amaresh Singh and his team arrested a man with a Bihar number motorcycle as well as three firearms and six live cartridges. The interrogation of the accused has exposed many important pieces of information. The Bhaktinagar police will likely go to Bihar as well and take assistance from the Bihar police for further investigation.
