Siliguri, 20th January: Sensation ensued in the area of Hemant Mukhopadhyay Sarani in Deshbandhu Para of Siliguri’s Ward No. 30 due to a fire incident.
Reportedly, on Thursday night, locals saw fire in a house that took a scooty into its grips and burnt it into ashes. As soon as the news was received, the fire brigade reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The residents suspect the cause of the fire to be a short circuit in the electric meter.
Later, former councilor Swapan Das also reached the area. He said that the fire might have started due to a short circuit that burnt the scooty. He further stated that no other damage has occurred.
