Fire breaks out in Dalsingpara Tea Estate, over 200 tea plantations burn down

Alipurduar, 02nd March: A sudden fire breaks out in the Dalsingpara Tea Estate of Kalchini block, where over 200 tea plantations were damaged. Notably, the tea estate has been closed for the past six months.


According to reports, on Saturday afternoon, residents of the Sramik Mahalla spotted the fire in sections 7 and 14 of the estate. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the Jaigaon fire department. Upon receiving the news, three fire engines rushed to the scene and brought the prevailing situation under control.

In this regard, tea estate worker Mohammad Saju stated that the reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. He further added the fire could lead to significant loss of life and property for breaking out near the Sramik Mahalla. Currently, the Jaigaon fire officials are engaged in further investigation.
