Bagdogra, 28th April: A sudden outbreak of fire in a garbage dump situated in the area adjacent to Bagdogra Chittaranjan High School sparked panic among the residents of the densely populated area.
Reportedly, on Sunday, the locals spotted the inferno in the pile of garbage and promptly informed the fire department. Upon receiving the news, an engine from the Matigara fire station arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control.
In this regard, Matigara fire station officer Yuvraj Chhetri stated that such incidents of fire outbreaks are common in the area. He advised against accumulating garbage and resorting to burning it.
