Fire breaks out in a flat in Siliguri’s Ward No. 23

Siliguri, 19th September: Sensation prevailed after a massive fire broke out in a flat adjacent to Surya Nagar ground of Ward No. 23 of the Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC).


According to reports, on Monday night, the flat was vacant. Following this, on Tuesday morning, the locals and other flat residents noticed black smoke coming out of the flat. Subsequently, a loud noise was heard and a raging inferno emerged. Immediately, the matter was informed to the flat owner and fire department.

Upon receiving the news, two fire engines rushed to the spot. After several hours of valiant efforts, the fire was brought under control. However, most of the household items were destroyed. Meanwhile, Siliguri Mayor Goutam Deb, Ward Councillor Lakshmi Pal, Ward Committee Member Bablu Pal and other officials visited and inspected the site of the incident.
