Siliguri, 25th March: A fire broke out at a bamboo bush in the Nabagram area adjacent to Siliguri’s Gate Bazaar. Due to the promptness of the firefighters, several nearby houses were saved.
It has been learned that the security guard of a school adjacent to Gatebazar as well as some locals noticed fire inside a bamboo bush. They immediately informed the NJP police and fire brigade. A fire engine arrived at the scene shortly after and brought the fire under control.
Several houses and electric wire poles are situated next to the bamboo bushes. However, the cause of the fire has not yet been determined. Police have started an investigation.
