Family of Siliguri student stranded in Ukraine worried

Siliguri, 26th February: All air services have come to a standstill after Russia’s full-scale invasion into Ukraine. Although some students from India have returned to the country, many are still stranded in Ukraine. Some of these students hail from Siliguri.

Reportedly, three students from Siliguri safely returned to the country on Thursday, however, two more students, Pritam Malakar and Vishal Saha, also from Siliguri are still stranded in Ukraine. Pritam Malakar is pursuing MBBS at Poltava Medical University and Vishal Saha, of Ward No. 34 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation, is also studying MBBS in Kharkiv National Medical University.

Amid tensions in Ukraines, Vishal’s entire family is worried after the Russian army attacked Kharkiv city. The family members maintained that they are not able to communicate with Vishal due to poor mobile network. The family appealed to the government to rescue Vishal and bring him back to India at the earliest.
