Fake Aadhaar card racket busted in Phansidewa, two persons arrested

Phansidewa, 27th October: Phansidewa Intelligence Department has busted a racket of fake identity documents and arrested two persons for making fake Aadhaar cards. The matter surfaced from the Teligach area of Chathat Anchal under Phansidewa police station.


Reportedly, on Tuesday evening, Biswajit Majumder, District Intelligence Branch, DIO – Phansidewa, received a tip regarding the illegal practice taking place in the area. Acting promptly, the intelligence team raided the spot and busted the racket. Several forms including a printer, laptop, keyboard, finger scanner, eye scanner, web camera, pen drive, two phones, a motorbike, PAN card, voter card and cash have been recovered from the spot. Two persons, identified as Mohammad Shahzada Akhtar (21) and Tahit Alam (38) have been arrested in connection with the incident.

According to the intelligence department, the duo was carrying out illegal work by stealing the ID of a bank in Uttar Dinajpur district. Forms were also filled by forging signatures of headmasters of many schools. Today both the accused were produced in the Siliguri Court. Police are probing the entire incident.
