Siliguri, 31st January: A woman shared her grievances with the mayor during the “Talk to Mayor” program for not being able to sell her land. On receiving the complaint, Mayor Goutam Deb reached Milan Pally located in Ward No. 25 on Tuesday.
Reportedly, the woman, a resident of Milan Pally had called on the “Talk to Mayor” program on Saturday and complained that she was selling 3 katha of land leaving 6 feet of road, which is in the process of selling. But, Ward Councilor and Borough Chairman Jayanta Saha talked about leaving about two more feet i.e. 8 feet. Following the said complaint, the Mayor reached Milan Pally today and spoke to the complainant. At the same time, the mayor asked the land buyers to leave one and a half feet off the road instead of two feet.
At the same time, Shubhashish Ghosh said that his wife Soma Ghosh had called the Mayor on the “Talk to Mayor” program. The mayor has reached out on the complaint made by his wife. On the other hand, he accused the ward councilor and said that, in a letter, the councilor had called his wife mentally unbalanced, and questioned such remarks made by the councilor against his wife. When councilor Jayanta Saha along with the Mayor reached the said place, the complainant expressed anger and started getting angry. The mayor later took charge of the situation.
