Siliguri, 20th May: The Excise Department conducted a successful raid at two godowns on Ghum-Sukhia Road under Jorebunglow Police Station limits, based on specific intelligence inputs.
As per reports, the operation was supervised by the Special Excise Commissioner, Enforcement (North), and involved officers from DEC Jalpaiguri Excise Division (JED), Darjeeling Sadar, Bagdogra, Bhaktinagar, IE Siliguri, and multiple OCs from respective jurisdictions.
During the raid, a total of 178 cartons of Sikkim-made non-duty paid liquor were seized, with the estimated value amounting to ₹19,84,200. The case has been registered by the Officer-in-Charge of JED, and further investigation is in progress.
