Siliguri, 28th August: The carcass of a male elephant was recovered from the Dudumari basty area under Banarhat No-1 Gram Panchayat.
According to the information, the locals spotted the elephant carcass and reported the matter to the Forest Department.
Upon receiving the news, the Binnaguri forest workers reached the spot shortly after and recovered the body.
Ranger Subhashish Roy stated that the cause of the animal’s death has not yet been determined. The exact cause of death will be known only after an autopsy.
