Election manifesto of BGPM released in Kurseong, party confident of victory

Kurseong, 29th June: Ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections, the Bharatiya Gorkha Prajatantrik Morcha (BGPM) has released its election manifesto. The party’s central committee issued the manifesto in Darjeeling yesterday, followed by the release of a separate manifesto for Kurseong by the Kurseong Subdivision Committee.


During a press conference held at the party office, key members including Samir Deep Blon, central member of BGPM, Subhash Pradhan, Chairman of the Kurseong Subdivision Committee, Pranam Rasaily, Secretary and Member, Anu Pradhan, Central President of Women’s Wing, Zeitun Nisha Khatoon, central member, Pemendra Gurung, Chairman of the Youth Wing Kurseong Subdivision Committee, and other committee members, jointly issued the declaration.


The manifesto focuses on the party’s candidates running in 14 gram panchayats under the Kurseong division. In this year’s panchayat elections, 18 panchayat members and 5 panchayat committee members have already been elected unopposed in various village panchayats within the Kurseong division.

Speaking to the media, Subhash Pradhan, Chairman of BGPM Kurseong Subdivision Committee, highlighted the party’s collaboration with the state government, resulting in the return of Panchayati Raj to the hills. He expressed confidence that the Panchayat system will now function under the people’s rule. Pradhan mentioned that all the promises made during the Gorkhaland Territorial Administration (GTA) elections have been progressively fulfilled, and similar commitments will be carried out for the Panchayat elections.

Furthermore, Pranam Rasaily, Secretary and Member of BGPM Kurseong Subdivision Committee, provided detailed information about the party’s manifesto. He shared that 18 panchayat members and 5 panchayat committee seats have been uncontested by BGPM candidates in various Gram Panchayats of Kurseong Subdivision. Rasaily highlighted the party’s project to establish a BGPM board in each Gram Panchayat and carry out rural development initiatives.
