Kalchini, 26th September: 70-year-old Haren Zahari, of Mendabari area, died after being hit by a scooter in the Nimti area of Kalchini block.
Reportedly, this morning, the elderly man was on his bicycle when a scooter rammed into him. He was then rescued and taken to Latabari Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Upon receiving the news, the Kalchini police reached the spot and recovered the body and sent it to Alipurduar District Hospital for post-mortem. Police have started an investigation of the whole matter
