EC allows journalists of North Bengal to cast their votes through postal ballot

Siliguri, 21st March: Journalists can now cast their votes through postal ballot. During the elections, journalists are stationed in different parts of the city/state for new gathering purpose. Due to this, they are often unable to cast their votes. Highlighting this issue, The North Bengal and Sikkim Journalists' Sangathan appealed to the Election Commission and the Government of India to resolve the matter. 


After relentless efforts, the Election Commission has allowed the journalists of North Bengal to cast their vote this time through the postal ballot.

Addressing a press met at Siliguri Journalists Club on Sunday, President of the Confederation of North Bengal and Sikkim Journalists' Sangathan, Alip Mitra, Anshuman Chakraborty, Pradeep Roy, Deeptendu Dutt made the announcement. As per the report, the said measure will come to force from the fourth phase of voting.
