Drug trafficking racket busted, 5 arrested in Siliguri

Siliguri, 08th June: In a significant breakthrough, the undercover cops of Bhakti Nagar Police Station under Siliguri Metropolitan Police, busted a drug trafficking racket. During these, 5 individuals have been arrested, including a woman. The accused have been identified as Noorjahan Begum, alias, Baji (30), Barun Roy (33), Sameer Sarkar (35), Prashanto Dey (30), and MD Ahenman (30).


Reportedly, on Wednesday, acting on a tip-off, the undercover cops of Bhakti Nagar police station busted the racket from the Eastern Bypass area of Siliguri. According to the information, the arrested Noorjahan Begum is commonly known as Baji. The accused with a help of a functional racket, was delivering brown sugar as well as narcotics to every nook and corner of the society.

According to reports, Baji had reached the Eastern Bypass area with her four accomplices to deliver intoxicating injections. Subsequently, police initiated a search after apprehending two scooties. During the search, 210 pieces of intoxicant injections were recovered along with 7 thousand rupees in cash from the two-wheelers. Following this, all the accused have been arrested and produced before the Jalpaiguri Court today. At present, police are investigating the entire matter.
