DRI arrest one with gold worth over Rs 40 lakhs in Siliguri

Siliguri, 04th December: Based on a tip-off, the DRI launched operations at Junction area last night and arrested a man along with 996 grams of gold. The arrested accused has been identified as Sanjay Siddheshwar Sharma, a resident of Thane in Maharashtra.


According to DRI sources, the gold was being transported to Delhi. Six gold biscuits weighing 166grams each were found hidden inside Sharma’s trousers. The approximate value of the recovered gold has been estimated to be around 41 lakh 82 thousand 988 rupees. He was produced before the Siliguri court today.
