‘Don’t show them any documents unless I tell you directly,’ says Mamata Banerjee in Nadia

Nadia, 04th February: During a rally in West Bengal’s Nadia district, Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee said, “In Assam, more than 100 people died because of the National Register of Citizens (NRC). In West Bengal, 31 or 32 died out of fear of NRC.”

Banerjee accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of terrorizing everyone who disagrees with the party. The CM also accused the central government of ‘trying to fool the people’ with the new tax system.
Banerjee maintained that she does not belong to any group that spreads hatred among people. However, she instructed the people, attending the rally, not to produce their documents and provide their family’s details until and unless the CM herself asks for them directly.

“Don’t show them any documents, if they ask you to submit your Aadhar card or details about your family, don’t give it to them, until and unless I tell you directly,” Banerjee announced.
