Siliguri, 01st July: District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA Committee) meeting was held at the State Guest House in Siliguri to review the progress of development works and assess the implementation of central government schemes in the region.
The meeting focused on accelerating the pace of development in the district and reviewing the ground-level status of ongoing projects. Detailed discussions were held on project execution, monitoring, and future planning with the participation of officials from various departments.
Among those present were Darjeeling MP Raju Bista, Minister of State (MoS) Anandamay Barman, the District Magistrate of Darjeeling, sub-divisional administrative officials, and representatives from multiple government departments.
During the meeting, the progress of various central schemes across Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Siliguri, Matigara, and Naxalbari areas was reviewed.
Key areas of discussion included rural road construction, drinking water supply, housing schemes, land patta distribution, and welfare programmes for self-help groups.
