Cooch Behar, 19th April: A disabled youth named Niren Rajbhar was injured in a bison attack in the Chakiarchhara Natun Bazar area under Mathabhanga Block No. 2.
It is to recall, on Tuesday, two bison had entered the Khokobari area of Nishiganj and the Nalangibari area, leading to the injury of a person named Birendra Nath. The forest personnel were immediately informed and they managed to control one bison by afternoon. However, the second bison could not be caught till evening, and the forest department had to warn the local people to be careful.
Unfortunately, this morning, the second bison attacked Niren Rajbhar, who is disabled, in the Chakiarchhara Naya Bazar area. The locals rescued him and took him to Nishiganj Rural Hospital. Forest officials are currently trying to bring the bison under control.
