Siliguri, 04th March: The Deputy Mayor and members of the Mayor-in-Council took oath at Siliguri Municipal Corporation, on Friday.
Mayor Goutam Deb administered the oath of office to the Deputy Mayor and members of the Mayor-in-Council in the presence of SMC Commissioner and Chairman. Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar administered the oath of office following which, 9 members of the Mayor-in-council namely Ram Bhajan Mahato, Manik Dey, Srabani Dutta, Sikta Dey Basu Roy, Kamal Agarwal, Dilip Barman, Shobha Subba, Rajesh Prasad Shah, and Dulal Dutta took the oath.
Goutam Deb said, “Today the deputy mayor and members of the mayor in council took the oath. We will work together for the development of Siliguri. The responsibilities of the borough chairmen will be explained soon.”
On the other hand, Deputy Mayor Ranjan Sarkar said “The past Left Board has failed to develop the city. So the citizens have brought TMC to power.”
