Siliguri, 17th February: A dentist has been arrested by the Matigara police on charges of attempting to sexually assault a minor. The accused, identified as Mohammad Minnat Hussain, runs a clinic in the Bakhtari area.
According to reports, a minor from the Matigara area, who was suffering from a toothache, visited the accused’s clinic on Sunday evening. It is alleged that the dentist attempted to rape the minor under the pretext of medical treatment.
The minor immediately returned home and informed her family about the incident. Following this, the family filed a written complaint against the doctor at Matigara police station on Sunday night.
Upon receiving the complaint, Matigara police acted promptly and arrested the dentist. He was presented before the Siliguri court on Monday.
Sources revealed that the doctor has previously been accused of indecent behavior with patients and inappropriate acts with minors. Police are conducting a thorough investigation into the case.
