Jalpaiguri, 21st April: An atmosphere of tension was witnessed in the hospital premises over the death of an infected patient at COVID hospital in Jalpaiguri.
Reportedly, a resident of Mahamaya Para in Jalpaiguri tested positive for COVID-19, on Tuesday evening. He was admitted to the Biswa Bangla Covid Hospital in Jalpaiguri.
It is alleged that the patient was in desperate need of oxygen and was having trouble breathing. Despite this, the doctors were negligent toward the patient and he was not provided with oxygen. Meanwhile, when the family of the said deceased reached the hospital, they found the man lying in the corner of the hospital.
The nursing staff and the doctor came to see the patients and declared the patient dead. Following the incident, the family members protested against the negligence of the hospital administration. As soon as the news was received, the police reached the spot and controlled the situation.
