Darjeeling’s A.R.T Centre observe World AIDS Day

Darjeeling, 01st December: On the occasion of World AIDS Day, A.R.T Centre District Hospital Darjeeling, under the guidance of District Medical officer Dr Subhasis Chanda and A.R.T.staff, took a step forward to spread awareness against the disease.

The A.R.T Centre provides Antiretroviral Therapy (ART) which prolongs and improve HIV/AIDS patients’ lives, and potentially reduce the risk that they will infect others.

In view of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a small programme was organized at the A.R.T Centre following this year’s theme “Global Solidarity, Shared Responsibility.” Masks and sanitizers were distributed among A.R.T patients.

World AIDS Day is celebrated on December 01 every year to fight against HIV and show support for people living with the disease.
