Bagdogra, 23rd January: On Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary the members of Darjeeling District Trinamool Congress (TMC) assisted the families of Tirhana Tea Estate workers. Notably, the Tirhana Tea Estate in Bagdogra has been closed for almost three months resulting in numerous hardships for the workers.
According to reports, on Tuesday, under the initiative of district TMC, blankets were distributed to the Tea Estate workers. During the distribution programme, Darjeeling District TMC President Papiya Ghosh, District INTTUC President Nirjal Dey, Youth President Nirnay Roy, and other leaders, were present.
In this regard, District TMC President Papiya Ghosh stated that the tea estate has been closed, however, the government services are being continued. She added that they stand for the people. Furthermore, the TMC leader stated that a health check-up camp would be organized on January 31.
