Darjeeling District SFI submitted a memorandum to Siliguri SDO concerning waiver of school fees

Siliguri, 12th June: The Darjeeling District Students’ Federation of India (SFI), on Friday, submitted a memorandum to the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) demanding to waive off school fees amid the pandemic.


Although all schools and educational institutions are shut down across the country for a prolonged period due to the pandemic, several private schools allegedly charged the children’s school fees.

Following this, the Darjeeling district SFI, on Friday, stepped forward and submitted a memorandum to the Siliguri SDO to waive off school fees during such a crisis. They further urged the government to look into the matter immediately.


Organization President Sagar Sharma stated that several private schools in Siliguri have been charging school fees and other fees from the students after conducting online classes. He further warned of staging larger demonstrations on behalf of the organization if their demands are not met soon.
