Siliguri, 28th February: Darjeeling District Congress took to the streets protesting against violence in civic polls.
On Monday, the Darjeeling District Congress in Siliguri took out a Dhikkar rally with black ribbons tied in their hands. The rally commenced from the Congress party office at Hashmi Chowk and toured various parts of the city.
The rally was led by Darjeeling District Congress President Shankar Malakar. He said, “Terrorism has taken place in the name of voting. We are protesting all over Bengal. We have no choice but to take to the streets to protest against those who do not allow human rights to be exercised.”
