Darjeeling District Committee of Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha provides aids to social workers and COVID hit families

Siliguri, 05th June: With the financial support of Prashant Saha, father of Indian international cricketer Wriddhiman Saha from Siliguri, in a joint venture with the Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha’s Darjeeling District Committee provided several aid to the COVID affected people.


As per the report, about 21 sanitizer spray machines were handed over to the students working in the interest of the common people amid the pandemic. Also, five families of children who lost their parents in the fight against coronavirus have been given financial assistance of Rs 10,000.


The alumni of Siliguri Jyotsnamayee Girls High School gave financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to Muktadhara Foundation, a voluntary organization of women that cremate abandoned bodies amid the pandemic. Apart from this, 6 oxygen cylinder services are being started by Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha for the citizens of Siliguri.

Working President of Paschim Banga Vigyan Mancha, Darjeeling District Committee Gopal Dey said that an appeal was made to Wriddhiman Saha and his father Prashant Saha to extend their helping hand to the family of the COVID-19 victims. Following this, Prashant Saha gladly provided financial assistance. Apart from this, the alumni of Siliguri Jyotsnamayee Girls High School also have provided financial assistance to the organization.
