Dabgram-Fulbari MLA ordered shutdown of road-making stone and bitumen mixing plant in Thakurnagar

Siliguri, 02nd December: In a significant development, the Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee has ordered the shutdown of the road-making stone bitumen mixing plant from the residential area.


According to reports, the plant is being operated next to a school located in the Thakurnagar area of Dabgram adjacent to Siliguri. As a result, the atmosphere surrounding the area has turned contaminated affecting the health of the locals and the students at school. The residents complained that despite their repeated inquiries in different locations, the issue remained unresolved. Consequently, on Friday, the residents called for the facility to be shut down.

Meanwhile, on Saturday, Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee visited the location in alignment with a news coverage by Siliguri Times. The MLA immediately acted upon the issue and informed the plant manager regarding its permanent shutdown. In addition, the MLA promptly reviewed the documents in order to remove the plant from the region after reporting the issue to the police administration.
