Siliguri, 20th December: CPIM Darjeeling District Committee took to the streets protesting against terrorism and violence in Kolkata municipal elections.
Reportedly, a protest rally was taken out in front of Anil Biswas Bhawan in Siliguri on Monday afternoon. The rally toured various parts of the city and concluded at the same place. Former mayor of Siliguri Ashok Bhattacharya, CPIM Darjeeling District secretary Saman Pathak and other Left Front leaders were present at the rally.
“I strongly oppose the way the government turned the Kolkata municipal election into a farce yesterday,” Ashok Bhattacharya said.
