Jalpaiguri, 21st March: COVID-19 vaccination for children in the age group of 12-14 years started in Jalpaiguri district from Monday. Two schools in different blocks of the district have been selected in the first phase for this vaccination. Today, 100 students of Jalpaiguri State Girls’ School and Jalpaiguri Sonaullah High School were vaccinated.
Meanwhile, a conflict broke out over the school’s seal being stamped in the hands of students before vaccinating them. However, the school management claimed that this was being done as per the instructions of the government. On the other hand, on being informed about the matter, Sadar SDO Sudip Paul, Chairman of Jalpaiguri Municipality Papiya Paul, and Vice-Chairman Saikat Chatterjee reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
