COVID cases significantly decreasing in Siliguri: CMOH Pralay Acharya

Siliguri, 04th September: Chief Medical Officer of Health (CMOH) Pralay Acharya, after the Patient Welfare Association meeting at Siliguri District Hospital on Friday, stated that the number of positive coronavirus cases has considerably decreased across the city.


He stated that 87 percent of people have recovered from COVID-19 infection so far. Besides, the death rate has come down to 1.3 percent. He further informed that home isolation is also getting a good response and very few patients are admitted at the safe houses. Apart from this, the number of patients at the two COVID hospitals in Siliguri has dropped below 50 percent.

He further maintained that with the introduction of the Rapid Antigen tests, their work has become easier. More Rapid tests are likely to be carried out in the SMC area in the coming days.
