COVID-19 testing machine to be installed in Darjeeling soon: Raju Bista

Darjeeling, 12th June: MP Raju Bista, who reached Darjeeling for the first time after the outbreak of COVID-19, inspected the quarantine center of Batasia TB Hospital, today. Following this, he also distributed essential commodities among the hospital staff.


He then visited the government hospital in Darjeeling, where he interacted with the hospital superintendent and discussed several issues in light of COVID-19 pandemic.

Addressing the media, Raju Bista stated that considering the growing number of positive cases in the hills, more testing facilities are required immediately. Although machines are likely to be installed for coronavirus testing, other emergency measures, including the appointment of microbiologists are also required. He also stated that no action has been taken so far in this regard due to the lack of coordination between the state government and GTA.


The MP further stated that the matter has already been discussed with the health department officials.
