Ministry of Health and Family Welfare stated that the total COVID-19 cases in India have risen to 49,391. This includes 33,514 active cases, 1,694 deaths and 14,183 cured/discharged.
Meanwhile, Alapan Bandyopadhyay, West Bengal Home Secretary, stated that 112 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the state today making the total positive cases as 1456. 4 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours taking the number of deaths to 72. 265 have been cured of the virus so far.
