COVID-19 Hospital to be built in Jalpaiguri Biswa Bangla Krirangan soon

Jalpaiguri, 07th April: The State Tourism Minister Goutam Deb visited Jalpaiguri and stated that the Jalpaiguri District Administration has decided to build a COVID-19 Hospital in the Biswa Bangla Krirangan in view of the Coronavirus outbreak. The State Government has also agreed to provide all possible help.


The Minister visited Jalpaiguri to ensure whether the Jalpaiguri District Health Department and the District Administration are providing proper medical facilities or not to deal with the pandemic. He held a meeting at the Circuit House along with the District Magistrate Abhishek Kumar Tiwari, District Superintendent of Police Abhishek Modi, District-in- Council President Uttara Barman and Jalpaiguri Municipality Chairman-in-Council Saikat Chatterjee.

After the meeting, the Minister stated that he is happy to see that all the doctors and the health workers are performing their duty well. He further informed there are a total of 7 suspected COVID-19 patients in the Jalpaiguri Super Specialty Hospital and 9 patients in the Lions Hospital. Deb also stated that a 100-bed isolation ward will be built in the Biswa Bangla Krirangan soon.
