COVID-19 death toll in West Bengal rise to 6

The number of people infected with coronavirus is increasing rapidly in the state taking the death toll to 6.


A 65-year-old elderly, of Belghoria in North 24 Parganas district, who tested positive for the COVID-19 died on Wednesday morning. The man is said to have no foreign travel history.

As per the report, the said elderly was admitted to the hospital following a kidney problem. On Tuesday, a report by the National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED) confirmed the man as COVID-19 positive.


On the other hand, a 62-year-old man died on Tuesday night at NRC Medical College-Hospital.

Apart from this, a 57-year-old man, who was admitted to a private hospital in Howrah district two days ago, died on Tuesday night. The health department officials are trying to find out the travel history of the deceased and whether he had come in contact with any person infected with the coronavirus.
