Kharibari, 08th June: A couple, Neelkanth Barman and Ranjana Barman, has been arrested in connection with drug possession in the Panitanki area of Kharibari.
Reportedly, on Friday, police from the Panitanki Outpost conducted a raid on a house in Gondogol Jote, near Panitanki. During the raid, authorities recovered 22 grams of brown sugar, 14 bottles of banned cough syrup, and Rs 1,13,000 in cash.
The arrested couple was presented before the Siliguri Sub-Divisional Court on Saturday. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
