Kharibari, 08th March: A couple identified as Rushan Devi Giri and Hara Kumar Barai has been arrested with 126 grams of brown sugar.
As per reports, acting on a tip-off, the police of Kharibari police station conducted a raid at a house in the Shitla Mandir area near Panitanki in Kharibari.
During the search, the police recovered 126 grams of brown sugar along with Rs 46,300 in cash. The estimated market value of the seized drugs is said to be in lakhs of rupees.
Sources revealed that the accused had been involved in the drug trade for a long time. Following the arrest, both were taken to Kharibari police station. On Saturday, the accused were produced in Siliguri court.
