Coronavirus Pandemic: Modi Government to give Rs 500 to 20 crore women

The Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during a press conference in Delhi on Thursday, announced a relief package for the poor and the migrant workers and various other schemes in light of the 21-day lockdown in the country to combat the coronavirus pandemic.


In this context, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced that the Modi government has decided to provide 500 rupees to 20 crore women account holders under the Jan Dhan Yojana. He also addressed other relief schemes solely designed for women, such as providing free gas to women beneficiaries under the Ujwala Yojana for three months.
