Corona outbreak: Man held for selling rice at a high price in Siliguri’s Gate Bazar

Siliguri, 20th March: An atmosphere of terror is being witnessed all over the country due to the coronavirus outbreak. Some people assume that there may be a crisis of food items in the coming days. Due to this, many people have started stocking up food items in their houses.


Taking advantage of such a situation, some traders have started selling food items at a high price. The NJP Police detained such a trader named Sachin Sarkar from the Gate Bazar area, on Friday.

According to police sources, allegations, for the past few days, were being raised for selling rice for a high price. Based on the allegations, the police launched a campaign, today morning, and arrested the said individual. It has been reported that such campaigns will be launched continuously against black marketing in the future.
