Siliguri, 02nd June: In a major breakthrough, undercover police of Pradhan Nagar Police Station successfully apprehended a miscreant found in possession of a firearm. The accused, identified as Sujan Sharma (24) and hailing from Cooch Behar, was taken into custody following the discovery.
According to reports, the undercover cops were conducting surveillance in the State Guest House area in Siliguri when they noticed a suspicious individual. Acting swiftly on their instincts, they proceeded to search the suspect, leading to the recovery of a US-made automatic gun along with six rounds of live ammunition.
As per police sources, the accused had allegedly arrived in the area near the State Guest House with the intention of selling the firearm, possibly for use in a more significant criminal activity. Presently, the individual has been presented before the Siliguri court, where the police have requested remand for further investigation.
