CM instructs to arrange buses for Madhyamik candidates residing in forest area to reach centre

Siliguri, 23rd February: Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee has expressed grief over the death of Madhyamik examinee who died in an elephant attack while on his way to the centre. After the happening, the Chief Minister directed to arrange buses for the candidates residing in the forest area to reach the examination centres safely. 


It is to be noted that, Arjun Kumar Das, a Madhyamik examinee, died in an elephant attack on Thursday morning in Maharaj Ghat area adjacent to Gajoldoba. The Chief Minister expressed grief over the incident after leaving Uttar Kanya today, she further added that the number of elephants has increased and added how there is a lot of problem in West Bengal and Jharkhand due to the same. She asked the education department to arrange buses for students living in forest areas and also advised the department and police to keep an eye on the incident. 

On the instructions of the Chief Minister, the District Magistrate of Jalpaiguri, Siliguri Police Commissioner and Mayor reached the house of the deceased examinee.
