Naxalbari, 08th December: A rally was taken out in different areas of Naxalbari by the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) today in support of the nation-wide strike called today by several farmers’ unions.
During the rally, a large number of CITU activists were present, including Jharen Roy, Madhav Sarkar, Bikas Chakravarti, Raju Sarkar, Bhanu Mallik, Amal Barman, Pranab Bhattacharya, Ram Mahanto, Baby Roy, Subir Paul.
Addressing the media, Bikas Chakravarti accused the central government of working against the farmers. He stated that the CITU held rallies across Naxalbari in opposition to the Centre’s farm bill and demanding the repeal of the bill.
